 A geek's dream software, this little utility turns a Pocket PC into a universal remote capable of controlling a wide variety of home electronics.
This software comes with an extensive list of supported devices, but allows users to create their own presets with a simple Learning feature. It supports a standard remote-control format called CCF, with a huge variety of additional device profiles available for download online. The program rises above the pack with a voice-activated feature, allowing users to control their devices with voice commands.
Additionally, the tool's interface is well-designed, with all functions presented in an accessible way. It supports seven languages, including French, German and Japanese. The trial version comes with an irritating registration reminder, which appears periodically to interrupt operation. However, the software as a whole is powerful and easy to use, and we would happily recommend it to any techie looking to consolidate remote controls. |
